CASE HIGHLIGHTS
Frequently asked QUESTIONS
-
Yes! Many of my clients live outside the United States. Although I can only advise on US tax matters, I frequently work with clients who live all around the world.
-
It depends on the nature of the matter. I charge a fixed fee for the initial consultation, at the end of which we discuss next steps and appropriate fee arrangements. I know that clients are concerned with agreeing to open-ended hourly fees, so I try to quote a flat fee whenever that is practical.
-
Please describe to me why you are contacting me, and give as much background as possible. You should also inform me of the names of any other parties that are involved, to allow me to confirm that there are no conflicts of interest. This will allow us to have a productive consultation -- at the end of the call, you should have a better understanding of the situation and what your options are.
-
The goal of the initial consultation is to discuss your concern, and to allow you to decide what to do next. The consultation might be all you need to understand your situation better. If you decide not to engage me to do anything further, that is perfectly OK. If you decide to engage me for further advice, we can discuss what that should entail, what the time frame should be, and how much you should expect the project to cost.
What individual and family clients say
Trusted for generations
-
★★★★★
“After my father passed away, I had no idea how complicated my family’s tax situation would become — he was Italian, and my sisters and I were American citizens living across two continents. Asher has guided all three of us for over fifteen years. As our lives have changed — the three of us now straddle the U.S., Italy, Portugal and Germany — he's adapted right along. Foreign accounts, international reporting, cross-border financial planning: I trust him completely.”

“We could not recommend Asher enough. Our situation isn't exactly straightforward — we're American, but our investments are overseas. Asher does an amazing job handling our tax returns, our foreign account filings, and he even works directly with our investment advisors overseas to make sure everything is invested sensibly. He makes the complicated feel manageable. If you are looking for a tax advisor who is on top of it, and also a pleasure to work with- Asher is your guy!”
